Update: Adventist Health Bakersfield reported two new babies born in the early hours of the New Year Wednesday morning, bringing the total count to five.
According to Adventist Health, a baby girl entered the world at 12:45 a.m. and a baby boy followed at 4:52 a.m.
Three new babies in Kern County entered the world to start the New Year on Wednesday morning.
Officials at hospitals in Kern County confirm that so far three babies were born at Kern Medical and Memorial hospitals.
Memorial Hospital officials say two babies were born to start 2020. The first baby born at Memorial came into the world just two seconds after the calendar flipped to 2020 at 12:00:02. The second baby was born at 1:03 a.m. at Memorial.
Kern Medical officials say one baby was born at midnight.
