4.9 aftershock reported in Ridgecrest area a week after 7.1

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a magnitude 4.9 earthquake in Ridgecrest on Friday morning.

According to the USGS, the aftershock hit at 6:11 a.m.

This quake comes a week after a 7.1 hit the area. A magnitude 6.4 struck the area on July 4.
