Four people were rescued from the Kern River at Hart Park on Saturday, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.

BFD says that four people were rescued in two separate rescue attempts. Two males and two females were saved.

The first woman rescued was by herself when another man attempted to help her, getting stuck in the process. Crews were able to rescue both of them, and they were taken to a nearby hospital.

Two more people were rescued shortly after, also at Hart Park. They did not require medical assistance.

Kern County Sheriff's Search and Rescue also responded to the rescues. Authorities say there are also reports of a person who went missing in Lake Ming; their condition is unknown.
