BAKERSFIELD, CA. — The 41st Kern County Honor flight will take off from Meadows Field Airport this morning.

101 veterans will board the flight to Washington D.C.

According to honor flight, this is one of the largest trips and will be the last one for this year.

We spoke with a veteran who has waited three years for a spot on the flight.

"I'm on my way. It only took three years to get here but I am on my way. It's a great feeling," said Harry Hodge.
