The Kern County Coroner's Office says a Los Angeles man was swept away and died in the Kern River.

The Coroner's Office says 45-year-old David Humberto Uceda Velis was swept under water in the Kern River on Tuesday afternoon.

He was later found unresponsive, pulled from the river and later pronounced dead at the scene.
