Several questions are still looming as to what started a fatal fire in Oildale last night. Neighbors say the parents of a 5-month-old baby girl are at loss for words.

The fire department was called out to the 100 block of McCord Avenue just before midnight. The fire was so big it spread to two additional units.

While several people did make it out of the flames - 5-month-old Jenica Lozano died. Kern County Fire officials say mobile homes tend to burn very quickly.  Smoke alarms should be the first to alert you of a fire, but in this case the family inside was overcome by smoke and flames coming from the back of the home.

23ABC has learned that another child was living in the home when the fire broke out. That child is safe and is now staying with family friends.

Fire officials are still trying to determine what caused this home to go up in flames and they say this is an on-going investigation.
