BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Sixty people were arrested for driving under the influence this holiday weekend during CHP's Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP).

According to CHP, Bakersfield CHP investigated two fatalities and arrested 60 people for DUI.

CHP investigated one fatality and arrested 72 people for DUI during last year's Christmas MEP.

This year's Christmas MEP started at 6:01 p.m. on Friday, December 21 and ran through December 25 at 11:59 p.m.
