A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has been reported about 100 miles off the Northern California coast on Thursday.
According the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake hit at 6:49 a.m. about 100 miles west of Ferndale.
It's not known if there was any damage to coastal cities.
