Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a homicide victim in Southeast Bakersfield on Friday night.
Deputies arrived near 1800 E. Panama Lane shortly after 11:30 p.m.
According to the Sheriff's Office, they found a 65-year-old man with stabbing wounds who died at the scene.
Timothy Nelson, 29, was detained and arrested at the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to deputies Nelson and the victim are family and the case is still under investigation.
