On October 4, at about 6:15 a.m., Delano police officers responded to a vehicle and pedestrian traffic collision on Cecil Avenue, just east of Albany Street.
The officers located 76-year-old Ruby Caraan who had been struck by a westbound vehicle, while she was crossing the street. The pedestrian was airlifted to Kern Medical Center, where she later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the traffic collision.

Her cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma and the manner is accident.
