On June 6, 2017 at about 11:17 pm, Lifeline contacted the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center to report an unknown situation occurring at a home in near Yukon Ave. and Timberline Street in Oildale.

Deputies responded to the home and upon arrival spoke to an 86-year-old female victim. She reported she had been watching television when an unknown suspect entered her home, brandished a shotgun at her and demanded money.

The victim is partially disabled and requires a walker to walk. The suspect then began ransacking the residence. As the suspect located items of interest he began passing them through an open sliding glass door into the backyard area. He held her at gunpoint.

The victim believed there was a second suspect taking possession of the items in the backyard, however she did not see the second suspect. When the suspects fled she notified Lifeline.

The victim was able to describe the first suspect as a white male wearing a maroon sweater with a hood and a mask. The stolen items were described as electronics and jewelry.

Medical aid responded to evaluate the victim at the scene, and she was cleared medically and did not require hospital treatment.

The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information on this case they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
