The Kern County Coroner's office has identified the two people killed in a crash on Interstate 5 in Lost Hills over the weekend.
Ninety-year-old Frederick Maxwell Recknagel and 89-year-old Jeanne Elizabeth Recknagel, both of Forestville, were in a car that hit multiple vehicles Sunday afternoon.
According to the coroner's office, Jeanne Recknagel was driving.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the car they were in was going northbound on the I-5, when for unknown reasons, it went into the center median and spun out into southbound lanes. It then collided with a big rig, then hit another, before crashing head-on with a Ford Mustang. Two people in the Mustang were injured.
