A contract ending at Edwards Air Force Base could result in a loss of jobs at the base this summer.

In a letter sent to Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner and others, the Unisys Corporation says their contract with the U.S. Air Force at Edwards will end July 15, 2018. Unisys currently employs 90 employees at the base.

The letter says there may be opportunities for many of the employees to continue employment with a new contractor or with Unisys at a different location. Any employees who are unable to secure continued employment will lose their jobs on July 15.
