23ABC obtained the original dispatch call from last Tuesday, when a routine traffic stop turned into first responders helping deliver a baby in a car on Valentine’s Day.

CHP officers pulled over a man near Buttonwillow for speeding and quickly discovered a woman was in labor.

The new parents were traveling from the Bay Area to Southern California for a doctor visit when the mother started having contractions.

Their baby was born right on the side of the I-5 freeway.

Both mom and baby are doing OK.
