A GoFundMe account has been set up in the wake of the death of prominent local attorney Benjamin Greene.
Greene died Tuesday after running a 5K at Hart Park. Temperatures at the time of the race were in the triple digits.
The GoFundMe account, which was set up by a family friend, looks to raise $10,000.
The account reads, in part, "Ben gave so much to the Bakersfield community and helped so many people in their time of need. My hope is that people now give back to help his family at this difficult time."
