This is the ninth reported shooting in nine days in the Bakersfield area.

Police say that at around 7 PM, they responded to the area of 36th and O streets to find a car that had been struck by gunfire.

The car was occupied by an adult female, a 16-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old toddler. None of them sustained injury.

The juvenile who was arrested has been charged with three counts of attempted homicide, gang participation and weapons violations.

The second suspect is still on the loose. Police say they are looking for a black male, 15 to 16 years old. He's said to be between 5'6" and 5'8" and was last seen wearing a white shirt and jeans.
