BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man's body was located in downtown Bakersfield Saturday night, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

BPD received calls about a man lying down in the 1900 bock of 20th Street, who did not appear to be breathing at about 6 p.m.

When police responded to that location, they pronounced the man dead on scene.

According to BPD, they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death.

BPD said they have not determined whether the man was homeless.
