BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a pedestrian-involved collision in downtown Bakersfield Saturday evening.
According to BPD, a male pedestrian was crossing Union Avenue when a vehicle struck him at about 8:13 p.m.
The man suffered major injuries from the collision and is currently listed in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle called police and cooperated with the investigation.
According to officials, the investigation revealed that the man was crossing the road outside of the crosswalk when he was struck.
Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the collision.
