A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after being struck by a truck in the area of Rosedale Highway

At least one person is dead after being hit by a truck just before 4:15 a.m. in the area of Rosedale Highway and Heath Road.

UPDATE (1:42 p.m.): According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a man died after being hit by two cars in Northwest Bakersfield early Friday morning, December 2nd.

According to officers, an unidentified 67-year-old was walking north in the northbound lane of Heath Road, south of Clarisse Street, when he was struck by a 2017 Dodge Ram pick-up truck shortly before 4:10 a.m. The man was then hit by 2019 Honda Civic that had failed to see the man sitting in the road after being hit by the first vehicle.

The man died at the scene. Both vehicles remained on the scene after striking the man. According to the CHP, drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

This is an ongoing investigation.
