BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The loudest cheers may have been most apparent at the end of a boys Varsity basketball game that wasn't close at all.
The Shafter Generals lost by nearly 40 points to Chavez High School, but they were arguably the happiest ones in the gym.
Jose Mendoza, a special needs student was put in at the end of the game and made a basket, sending the crowd into a roar.
Following the basket, you can just see the happiness on his face, when viewing footage of the moment, posted on Twitter.
The highlight of our tournament was a young man named Chepe from @ShafterBoysBB checking in at the end of their game against CC to get a BUCKET! Much credit to both coaches for this awesome moment! @MexBaller20 pic.twitter.com/K85VU8gE51
