A shooting in Southwest Bakersfield left one man with injuries, Bakersfield Police reports

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — One man is injured following a shooting in Southwest Bakersfield Sunday afternoon, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Officers responded to Taylor Street and Hector Avenue at about 4:23 p.m. and located one man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Officers also discovered that a Pitbull mixed breed dog was shot during the incident. The dogs injuries were also confirmed to be non-life threatening and it was transported to a local animal hospital.

The suspect has been described as a black male.
