Angela's service brought her to Antarctica where she found her passion
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Angela Garner joined the Navy to help give her direction as a young adult.
Her service took her around the world, when she then heard about an opportunity to spend a year in Antarctica. After spending a year in the freezing cold, she knew she wanted to return.
She returned as a civilian and has spent a majority of the past 23 years in Antarctica.
In the spring of 2018, she returned to Bakersfield for good to marry her middle school crush.
