UPDATE (Sept. 20, 2016, 9:02 a.m.): Nancy Marquez has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.

A woman who confessed to being involved in a deadly hit and run crash is scheduled to appear in court today.

The crash happened December 18, 2015 on the corner of Columbus and Cornell Street.

58-year-old Robert Moreno was walking his son to work in the early morning hours when car jumped the curb hitting Moreno and killing him.

Nearly four months after the deadly hit and run, 20-year Nancy Marquez was arrested after she confessed to being the driver of that vehicle.

Police say 20-year-old Nancy Marquez confessed to drinking and driving before the crash, and then fled the scene after hitting and killing Mr. Moreno.

Mr. Moreno was killed in front of his son who was at the scene when the crash happened.

Nancy Marquez is being sentenced today for manslaughter.
