The second accident happened around 7 a.m. when a 27-year-old man driving a 2012 freightliner panel truck was traveling westbound on Highway 58 just west of Borax Rd. A 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser carrying a 74-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were just ahead of the truck when the man failed to brake and crashed into them.

The crash caused the Toyota FJ Cruiser to go onto the north dirt shoulder. Both people in the Toyota FJ Cruiser sustained fatal injuries.

It was determined that both drugs and alcohol did not play a factor in the second accident.
