Jerrad Johnson and Mark Abernathy are partners in their non-profit organization Act Kindly Inc. and they are hitting the road this Friday to deliver food, clothes and water to the victims of hurricane Harvey.
The duo are no stranger to giving back.
They helped out here in Kern County during the Erskine Fire and during the Oroville Dam.
After hurricane Harvey swept through communities destroying everything, Johnson and Abernathy put a plan together.
But ran into a problem after learning the cost to ship the items collected would cost nearly $10,000.
So, they decided to drive it themselves
"We got a 40 ft container we are going to try and fit into a trailer so it's going to be a little bit of a challenge,” Johnson said.
A challenge the two accept because their dedicated to helping the people of Texas in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
" If something like this happened to me or my family I would want people to do the same thing for me," Johnson said.
Act Kindly Inc. are accepting donations for Harvey victims until Friday.
