Additional police presence at Ridgeview High following threat of possible shooting

There is additional police presence at Ridgeview High School on Thursday following threats of a possible school shooting.

Parents were notified of the threat last night around 10 p.m. 

Erin Briscoe-Clark, Public Information Officer for the Kern High School District, released this statement:

"Student and staff safety is a priority for the Kern High School District.  Late yesterday afternoon, Ridgeview High School administration became aware of a threat to the school.  Kern High School District Police and the Bakersfield Police Department investigated.  Kern High School District police determined that the threat was not credible.  Parents were notified Tuesday evening of the threat via the district's all-call system.  Additional officers and security will be on campus today."

KHSD Police have determined that the threat is not credible however they say they are taking precautionary measures to ensure student safety.
