Adventist Health plans emergency helicopter drill

Friday May 4, 2018 Adventist Health Bakersfield will be holding an emergency helicopter drill with the help of local first responders.

The Bakersfield Fire Department, Hall Ambulance and Adventist Health Bakersfield will be conducting the emergency drill scenario. It will involve a medical helicopter that has crashed on the heliport with debris hitting the ground along with numerous simulated injuries and fire.

An actual helicopter will be used along with Bakersfield College student actors who will be roll playing as patients. The fire department will also be using it’s hook and ladder truck to practice rescue techniques.

This emergency drill will be very visual to the public, part of H Street will also be blocked off while the drill takes place.

The drill will officially start at 9:15 a.m. Friday.
