BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Adventist Health Bakersfield is in desperate need of face masks to protect its employees, according to a Houchin Community Blood Bank Facebook post Saturday.
The post said "this is Brad (CEO of Houchin). I just got off a call with Sharlet Briggs (CEO of Adventist Hospital-Bakersfield). The hospital is in desperate need of masks to protect its employees, so desperate that they are pleading for the community to help them HAND MAKE masks."
The post added that the hospital is in need of 5000 cotton masks.

The post also asks the community to drop off the masks at the Houchin Donor Center during regualr business hours.
