Shoppers flocked to Ridgeview Plaza on Panama Lane today for the Grand Opening of Albertson's.

Formerly Albertson's, turned Haggen, turned back to Albertson's after a year long hiatus. Employees and shoppers cheered at the ribbon cutting ceremony outside the store earlier today. Manager's outlined some changes including fresher produce and meat/fish sections which include organic products. These changes come after Fresh and Easy closed their doors in Bakersfield, leaving room in the market.

Loyal Albertson's shoppers were happy to see their favorite grocery store reopen, saying it's more than just the prices and convenience but rather the whole experience. One shopper says the employees are so welcoming and willing to help. 

Other grocers including German discount store Aldi plans to open in Bakersfield within the next few months.
