The Kern High School District has cancelled all football games and athletic activities Friday due to heat.
The district had already shut down all practices, indoor and outdoor activities, but had not made a decision on Friday night's football games.
McFarland and Taft have also cancelled their Friday games in response to the district's decision according to a McFarland official.
Tehachapi is still set to kick off the season at home against Burroughs.
Bakersfield Christian is also set to start at 8:30 on the road in Visalia against Central Valley Christian.
