The countdown is over for local skiers and snowboarders.  After three years of being closed due a lack of snow, the Alta Sierra Ski Resort is finally back open.

Thanks to El Nino, the snow has returned and so has business.

Hundreds of people made their way up to the resort taking in all the snow and activities.  Whether you’re a beginner or advanced skier, there’s something for everyone.  The resort offers tubing, skiing and snowboarding, as well as ski lessons and rentals.  Management has been prepping for today for months and is excited this day is finally here.     

Just about every week storms continue to hit the resort, bringing plenty of snow.  The resort says this season is already looking pretty promising.  If the amount of snow that's been falling continues they anticipate being open possibly until May.
