ALTA SIERRA, Calif. — All the reindeer and elves will flock to Alta Sierra this week as the ski resort announces they are open for the holidays.
The resort announced on social media that, thanks to 8 inches of new snow, they will be opening the slopes everyday except Christmas.
Merry Christmas week to us! 8” of new snow & still snowing this morning. We are OPEN!!! Expectations are more snow and we will stay open all of Christmas holidays except 12/25 (Santa wouldn’t approve). Ticket office opens @ 8 runs open 9-4. Roads are snow covered/carry chains!!!

The ticket office opens at 8 a.m. and runs open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Officials are warning drivers to bring chains if they plan to head up the snow-covered roads this week.
