Alzheimer's Association expands in Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Alzheimer's Association will expand in Bakersfield to meet the needs of those affected by Alzheimer's Disease.

Alzheimer's Disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and the third in California.

According to the Association, by 2030, there’s going to be over 20,000 people with Alzheimer’s. An increase of 85% compared to the 10,000 diagnosed in 2015 in Kern County.

The Association will hold an open house at their new place, 1401 Commerical Way from 2-6 p.m.
