The American Cancer Society recognized all of their volunteers Thursday at an event, including a man who drove patients 860 times over 11 years.
Volunteer Bill Schaefer made 860 trips taking cancer patients to their treatments.
The American Cancer Society held volunteer recognition nights at all 32 offices statewide. The society offers free services to the 1.3 million cancer survivors in the state and the 145,000 newly diagnosed patients this year.
