"If you live in Kern County, the air you breathe may put your health at risk."
Those were the words from the American Lung Association's latest report on air quality, released early Wednesday morning.
The report breaks down the air quality of metropolitan areas across the United States.
It breaks down areas into three categories -- High Ozone Days, Year-Round Particle Pollution and 24-hour Particle Pollution.
Bakersfield ranks No. 1 in year-round and 24-hour particle pollution and No. 2 in High Ozone Days, behind only Los Angeles-Long Beach.
