BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The annual Greater Harvest Christian Center turkey giveaway was held Saturday, inviting anyone from the community to swing by and pick up one of over 300 free turkeys.
The event began at 8 a.m., and lasted until supplies ran out. The giveaway was sponsored by Wingstop and Upside Academy Inc.
Hundreds of cars lined around the block as people waited Saturday morning. The turkeys were given to people drive-thru style in the church's parking lot.
One turkey was provided per 1 vehicle.
Upside Academy Inc. plans to hold a similar giveaway event relating to Christmas in December.
