A Magoo's Pizza restaurant in northeast Bakersfield has closed amid health concerns, Kern County Public Health officials confirmed Monday.
This is the second Magoo's location to close in the past week due to a failed health inspection; a location on Olive Drive in Oildale is still closed after it failed an inspection last Monday.
In the case of the closure of the location on 5600 Auburn Street in northeast Bakersfield, health inspectors cited issues like "two dead rodents in dry storage" and an unsafe temperature in a refrigeration prep unit.
The owner of the store on Auburn Street told 23ABC News that he expected to open his store by 2 p.m. Monday, but an employee said later in the day that the restaurant is still closed; they hope to reopen on Tuesday.
