A search warrant details a recent marijuana bust the Kern County Sheriff's Office made in Caliente last month.

The warrant says KCSO spotted a clandestine outdoor marijuana garden during a routine aerial observation flight on August 16th.

The garden had approximately 2,100 plants and KCSO destroyed the plants without seizing any from the property.

23ABC reached out to KCSO for comment on the use of the helicopter for purposes like this and how the recent budget cuts will affect these operations (Earlier this year, Sheriff Youngblood had said the helicopter will be used only a few times a week because of the cuts.) KCSO declined to comment because they do not want to discuss operational methods or surveillance tactics in regards to narcotics investigations.
