TEHACHAPI, Calif. — After an investigation, County Fire's Arson investigation Unit has arrested a suspect for multiple grass fires ignited over this week in Tehachapi and Edison areas.
Officials said, the fires started Thursday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. and the last one started around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. County Fire said firefighters responded to a total of six reports of fires.
The largest of these fires took place in Tehachapi Friday near the railroad tracks at Highway 58 and Tucker Road which was reportedly contained at 55 acres.
Around 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, arson investigation unit arrested a person on six counts of arson. Officials have not released the suspect's identity.
