The Bank of America in Arvin was robbed Friday morning, according to Arvin Police Chief Jerry Breckinridge.
The bank called police at 10:15 a.m., they showed up two minutes later and began searching for the suspect.
Chief Breckinridge said they have not found the culprit, but have security camera footage that will be released.
He said this was very unusual, as the bank is located in the center of town and had never been robbed before.
The suspect is described as a black man, with a hooded grey sweatshirt. No one was injured during the robbery, Chief Breckinridge said some people were not aware the robbery occurred.
Right now it is unknown if a weapon was involved. The bank will remain closed for several hours, until the investigation is complete.
