Arvin PD arrest man in connection to deadly park shooting

Over the weekend, Arvin Police officers arrested a man in connection to a murder that happened at a park on November 11.

Arvin PD executed a search warrant on Sunday morning in the 1200 block Chula Vista Avenue and the 600 block of Orchard Drive.

Police located 36-year-old Guillermo Navarro Jr. and arrested him for murder as well as assault with a firearm, possession of a zip gun, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and drug-related charges. 

Navarro Jr. is believed to be connected to the shooting murder of 32-year-old Dane Ducker.

Police found Ducker unresponsive at Kovacevich Park just before midnight on November 11.  

Medical aid was rendered but crews were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead.

Navarro Jr. is being at a Kern County jail without bail. He is expected in court Tuesday at 3 p.m.
