Family identifies victim in Arvin fatal shooting

UPDATE (December 19, 2017 1:10 p.m.): A vigil is scheduled for 21-year-old Ismael Guttierez, who family identified as the victim of a fatal shooting early Sunday morning. 

The vigil will be held at Kentucky Fried Chicken on Brundage Lane on Dec. 19th at 10 p.m. according to the family.  ==========

UPDATE: Family has identified the victim of Sunday's early morning shooting in Arvin as 21-year-old Ismael Guttierez. 

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Arvin police received a call of gunshots heard in the area of South A and Langford streets.

Officials say approximately one minute later, they received another call from a man that said he was in a car near Arvin High School with his two friends that had been shot. 

Officers responding to Arvin High were flagged down in the 400 block of Campus Drive where they located a 19-year-old Hispanic female and a 21-year-old Hispanic male that were suffering from several gunshot wounds. 

Both victims were transported to a local hospital where the male victim succumbed to his injuries. 

The female victim is listed in stable condition. 

Investigators were able to determine that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Krauter and Walnut Dr. 

Officials do not have any suspect information.

The identities of the victims have not been officially released.
