SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Assemblyman Vince Fong introduced a legislative package that would empower Californians to hold agencies accountable and ensure government transparency.
The bill would allow the public to better interact with the government and currently stands in the Assembly Rules Committee where it will be referred to the appropriate policy committee for a hearing in early 2019.
“For too long, we have tolerated a government that is stuck decades in the past,” Fong said. “Just by utilizing the technology we use in our daily lives, we can instantly bring government closer to the people whom we serve every day. We need to make government more transparent and accountable, which is what these critical reforms seek to accomplish.”
