BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Assemblyman Vince Fong is in a giving spirit as he hosts a Winter Shoes and Socks Drive to benefit students at Beardsley Elementary in Oildale.

In a news release, the assemblyman encouraged the community to donate their gently used and/or new shoes and new socks. Donations will be accepted for both boys and girls shoes and socks ranging from sizes one to seven.

The drop off location will be at Assemblyman Vince's office which is located at 4550 California Avenue, suite 740 in the downstairs lobby. The drop off times will be Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. up until January 9.

“Helping our local students in need of reliable shoes and socks makes a big difference as the weather grows colder,” said Fong. “Our community is incredibly generous and we are excited this opportunity to partner with Beardsley to ensure every pair of shoes and socks will go to a student in need.”
