BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — One man is dead after a crash on Wheeler Ridge Road on January 12.

The crash happened at 5:52 p.m. The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a black Chevy pickup truck was traveling north on Wheeler Ridge Road at 55 MPH. The truck rear-ended a two axle International fertilizer applicator rig, which is typically used to spread manure or fertilizer.

The driver of the Chevy pickup died at the scene. The operator of the rig was not injured.
