BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A crash involving a single male motorcycle rider left one person dead in the area of Merle Haggard Drive, just east of Pegasus Drive in Oildale.

According to officials, the rider lost control of the motorcycle before being ejected. The approximately 55-year-old victim died at the scene.

Officials believe that speed may have been a factor, but drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors at this time.
