BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — At least one person is dead after a vehicle was found in a water-filled canal along Highway 46, east of Bakersfield Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic website, the vehicle was observed upside down in the canal, shortly before 1 p.m., near Kecks Road in Lost Hills.
A coroner has since been requested to the scene.
It is unclear how the vehicle ended up in the canal and how many people were inside.
