The Atascadero Police Department says a missing man and his 4-year-old son have been found.
Officials say around 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon they received information that Cody Parrott had been in the Tehachapi area. A CHP officer later located Parrott's car near Independence, CA and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. They say Parrott initially failed to stop for the officers, but eventually did pull over. He was taken into custody for evading a police unit and child endangerment.
Lt. Robert Molle with APD says the child is in good health.
According to Atascadero PD, on January 31, the Atascadero Police Department responded to a missing person’s report involving suspicious circumstances.
During the investigation, Atascadero PD learned that a resident, Cody Parrott, had been acting irrational. Atascadero PD says Cody left the residence sometime during the night and took his 4-year-old son, Noah Parrot, with him.
Officials say the pair did pass through Kern County at some point and they are currently making arrangements to get the child back home.
