A newborn has died after it was born in a restroom at a park in East Bakersfield.
According to Bakersfield Police, around 4 a.m. Wednesday, officers arrived at Jefferson Park.
That's where they found that a woman had given birth inside a restroom at the park.
Bakersfield Police say the woman carried the baby in a purse to a nearby residence.
The woman showed the baby in the purse to someone before they called police, according to the 911 call.
The woman was taken to Kern Medical to be treated.
It's not known if any arrests will be made.
