Baby dies after being found unresponsive in bathtub in Ridgecrest home

UPDATE (12/18, 7:10 p.m.): The 17-month-old baby who was found unresponsive in a bathtub in Ridgecrest earlier this month appeared to have drowned accidentally, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.

Fabian Contreras was found in unresponsive in a bathtub on Dec. 10.

Ridgecrest Police said no arrests were made and the parents are currently not facing any charges. 

Police said the incident does not seem intentional and they are investigating.

A baby who died after he was found unresponsive in a bathtub in Ridgecrest this weekend has been identified. 

On Dec. 10, 17-month-old Fabian Contreras was found unresponsive on the 1400 block of N. Wayne Street, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.

Contreras was taken to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital where he died at 10:15 a.m.

Ridgecrest Police are investigating the incident.

A postmortem examination will be scheduled at another time.
